Gumpaste Flowers On Cake...

I feel like the answer is obvious. I made gumpaste roses to go on top of a cake but I am not sure how to attach them. I used the Wilton cutter set and they have directions to put the flowers in styrofoam. That doesn't feel right. I appreciate any help you can give me. I made 6 roses for the top.

The styrofoam is just to hold them while they dry. Attach them to the cake with a little royal icing.

Thank you. I was thinking royal icing.

The Wilton book shows the roses stuck in a half styrofoam ball on the cake with other flowers and ribbons. Not really my thing but my mom loved it.
