I just uploaded my first fondant cake. I have a question.

When I tryed to cover it I could NOT get it to form, my hubbythought it might be more challenging because the caks was 6" diameter and 7 inches high. Would that make it harder?

I ended up cutting a strip for the sides, and putting the top on seprate, but that, obviously gave me a seam I had to cover...

I am going to get some cake dummies to practice on. Do I ice the dummies to simulate real cakes?

I'd just smear 'em up with shortening.
