Ball Shaped Cookies

i'm trying to make these cookies called puppy cookies [they're not made w/ real dogs, no worries x] and the recipe doesn't show me how to keep the ball shape after baking. after i baked them, the cookies flattened & the filling gushed out & burned. how do i maintain that ball shape when after i bake? icon_confused.gif is that even possible?

Maybe add more flour for a stiff dough or bake in a ball pan and attach 2 halves together with chocolate

It looks like she cooks the filling until thickened.
Can you compare the recipes and see any difference?

Great! Now I'm going to have to try making these for my grandson! LOL
