Hi Everyone, can someone please tell me what the difference, if any, there is between Confectionery Arts International Tylose Powder and CK Products Tylose powder?

I wanted to try and make my own Gumpaste, but I did not have enough of the CAI Tylose and the only Tylose my local cake deco store had was the CK Tylose. She ran out of the CAI.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Denise

No difference that I'm aware of. I use whatever tylose is cheapest--it's all CMC under the "tylose" moniker.

I prefer the CAI Tylose. And if you read the Nick Lodge instructions for gumpaste (if it's back on his website), the amount of tylose used differs between the brands. I do not recall the exact ratio, as I have been using the CAI brand exclusively for some time now.

I've used both and really have not noticed a difference.
