I done a couple of fondant covered cake and think that I'm covering them right but once I've covered the two layer cake you can see the seem/line around the middle of the cake (where the two layers meet). I hope I'm making sense in how I'm describing it. It doesn't let my fondant look smooth like I want it. Any suggestions/tips.

Are you letting them settle long enough before applying your fondant? I usually let mine sit at least 4 hours, and overnight if possible. Also, you need a sturdy dam to keep your filling in place so it doesn't want to squish out from between the layers. HTH. icon_smile.gif

Thanks. I don't think I've been letting my cake settle long enough. I only let it sit for about a hour before I start decorating it. I will try longer. Thanks.

And make sure it's GOOD & COLD before applying the fondant. It's heavy and needs the firm cold cake to hold up to the weight.

Settle good, trim the bulge, thicker fondant or better bc coverage. Does that make sense?
