...in the fridge? I have some left over from my boys' birthday cakes from last week. I was hoping to use it for a baby shower cake I have to make tomorrow. Do you think it will still be good? I made it last Wed., so it's by the time the cake gets eaten it will be 1 1/2 weeks old.

I'm pretty sure that I have used icing that old. I always take a trial taste and sniff before using anything that's been living in my fridge, but buttercream keeps exceptionally well due to its high sugar content.

It will be fine. I have kept buttercream in the fridge for weeks with no problems...just make sure you mix it up well before using! Some people but it back in their mixer but I just do it by hand!

Oh, wonderful! I have just enough to ice and decorate the small baby shower cake I am making for this weekend, and didn't want to have to make a new batch... especially when I have almost every color in the rainbow sitting in my fridge leftover from my boys' cakes! Thanks!
