Making A Coffee Mug Handle

Any suggestions on what to make one out of? Luckily they mug is white so coloing it won't be a problem.

On page 1 of my photos I have a mug. I made the handle out or rkt and covered it with fondant. I had small dowels in each end of the handle to insert into the cake.
