Does anyone know if that works with any flavor cake mix? I would think so but want to be sure. I like her recipe because it carves sooo well.

it will and IMO betty Crocker works the best with it for sturdiness.

Here's the recipe that I found in the link above

Sturdy Doctored Cake Recipe

1 box cake mix (no pudding in the mix)
  1 small box instant pudding in coordinating flavor
  1 cup sour cream
  1 whole large egg
  3 large egg whites
  1/2 cup water
  1/3 cup oil (add one more TBS oil with chocolate)
  Optional:
  1 tsp vanilla flavoring
  1 tsp almond flavoring
  1 tsp butter flavoring

you mention that you prefer betty crocker mix. your recipe states to use a mix with out pudding added. in my part of canada the betty crocker mixes have pudding added to them, not sure about any where else. do you think it will be ok to still use the betty crocker or should i try a brand w/o the pudding added to it.

I was referring to Pillsbury mostly. Bc should work fine.

sugarshack do you still add the pudding with the bc mixes even though it says it has pudding in the mix?
also, where do I get the wedding bouquet flavoring for your buttercream...
