I want to make some display cupcakes so i bought some cupcake dummies (foam) and I was wondering what I can use for the frosting. I want to be able to keep them long term so I didn't want to use real buttercream. Any Ideas????

I'd use the same thing that the 4-Her's use for their cakes, which I believe is royal icing. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong icon_smile.gif

ithink its called permaice, its a display icing that can be washed. But when i make display cupcakes i use plain or old buttercream that i would otherwise be throwing away to decorate, then when its time to change out just scrape it off. Not sure if you can scrape permaice off.

I would use royal icing. In the old days when I decorated a lot of cakes I used royal for dummies and they lasted years...
