I was asked to make a giant cupcake but don't want to purchase the pan right now. I was thinking I could just do a couple of 6in layers and use 1/2 of the ball pan to make the top.....has anyone ever tried this?? Or do you think it would work?? They just want it to take babies first birthday pics with....so it will be smashed anyway icon_sad.gif

I have done it that way and I have also sculpted the top part. Either way works great and it is one less pan taking up space. I had bought the wilton cupcake pan and hated it. HTH
