Sorry if this is a repeat question....I did a search on substitutions and didn't come up with an answer. So if I substitute oil for butter in a recipe is it an equal ratio? i.e. 1/2 C (1stick) butter = 1/2 C oil? I dropped by last stick of softened butter on the floor and the kids are in bed so I can't get out to buy more!

It should be fine. TECHNICALLY there's a water/fat thing - but I've done while recipes one for one with no problems. Since you are only doing a part - go for it!
