I need some help or some ideas. I'm doing a baby shower cake on Nov 13th. And she wants it in the Michigan football colors. Blue and Yellow. My idea was a yellow fondant with quilting look with blue pearls. Then I got a chocolate mold of a football. And with a quilt blanket. I would appreciate it much for some help or any suggestions.

Thanks!

I did a baby shower cake recently in blue and yellow. I put sugar bunting around the top tier and wide fondant vertical stripes around the bottom tier. I then sat a sugar model of mum to be on the bottom tier, kind of leaning against the top.

Other ideas I had was a baby clothes washing line around the tiers and a stork. The blanket sounds sweet, have they asked for an actual football to be on the cake as well as the cake being in team colours? If so you're a bit more limited on design ideas icon_smile.gif

What about something like this? But with the blue and gold as the stripes? If it's to be a boy I would put blue bows, if it's to be a girl then maybe gold bows?

Clothesline is a good idea (as lindsey077 said).

I think you can do the little blanket on top, with the football (and a baby, if you want to).

Then around the cake (assuming it's round) you can do the clothesline. You could make them in the colors they requested, even maybe a little t-shirt, or pants from the team.

If you do not go with the clothing line design, you should do stripes (more modern) instead of the quilting look and pearls.

Some examples, maybe you can take a little of each:
