I'm not a cake muggle. I've taken classes, spent hundreds of dollars on equipment, and stuffed everyone I know with cakes and cupcakes over the past year. And I still suck. So I think we need to coin the term "Cake Squib" for me and any other unfortunates out there, just cause I think Cake Muggle is hilarious and I want to extend the wackiness. icon_biggrin.gif What do you all think? Anyone else afflicted?

Your probably being too hard on yourself - wish you had more photos in your gallery but your cookies were sure cute! I certainly have days when I think "hey I'm getting it" and then others where I just think "give it up already"! I have been teaching myself over the last year (no classes around here) and I think the problem is I look at people's amazing cakes on Cake Central and want to be brilliant immediately but spose its a matter of being patient, practicing and learning as you go. But yip, I probably fit under the "cake squib" category too! Onwards & upwards!!!

icon_cry.gif I am new to cake decorating but Amen, I can't even get any kind of the simple flowers correct. Roses fall over, drop flowers stick to wax paper & fall apart, pull out starts droop, & I always have crumbs in my icing etc. I like doing it but I feel like quitting. Don't know what to do.

Wow you guys are so nice! I love this community.

My biggest problem is my hands shake.

I was on blood pressure medication and was fine, but lost 40 pounds (yay!) and my doctor took me off the medication and now my hands shake. It's so weird. I don't remember them shaking before I started the blood pressure medication, but I didn't cake then, so maybe I just didn't notice.

I have more photos coming ... my "good" camera is at work.

Well I looked at your pics and the cookies are definitely very I wouldn't say you suck at all. I read at the bottom that your sticks fell out, next time just use royal icing on the tip of the stick and just stick those suckers back in icon_redface.gif that's what I do. Just keep practicing and you will get the hang of it. thumbs_up.gif I hope this helps but my hands shake too, I do a lot of piping with royal icing, I find it helps me to hold my wrist slightly while I pipe with the other one.
