If I make a fondant covered cake tonight, will it be okay for a party on Tuesday evening? If I let it sit out until Tuesday, should I cover it with something to keep dust and dirt away?

Or should I just crumb coat tonight and then put the fondant and decorate tomorrow night?

Thanks so much!

When I bake my cakes I always leave them overnight in the tin. Once they have cooled down I just turn the tin over and cover in a teatowel and then ice it in the morning.

I usually bake the cake and let it sit in the fridge overnight. Ice and decorate the next day and it would be ready for Tuesday. Or you can decorate on Tuesday if you have time. Since you're using fondant you want to have "settle time" before putting your fondant on.
