Has anyone ever leveled your cake before freezing? I need to make a 14" cake and it is easier to freeze to handle large cakes, but by the time its soft enough to level it is already soft again to handle. any suggestions?

Thanks,
Carol

I second that! I always always level and torte before freezing, and place a layer of wrap between my torted layers so they're easier to pull apart when still frozen, then fill and carve while they're still firm. Easy breezy, works like a charm!

Thanks for your replies. Now I feel better about this. Will test it out next week.

Thanks,
