Hi ppl(:

Well im gonna make a Cake for my brother. Theme is Iron Maiden.

Its gonna be a 3 tierd cake and i want a guitar to look like it was thrown in the cake and im gonna buy a mask of Eddie and place it at the top tier to make it seem like hes planning.

Does anyone know what i should make the guitar out of??

Fondant, Pastillage, Gum paste???

Your help and ideas will be appreciated!

I would make it out of fondant mixed with tylose/gumtex powder. I just pour in approx. a couple of tbsps of the powder in about a 1/2 lb of fondant, then work from there - from the feel of it. Sorry, don't know the exact measurement....
I find that gumpaste (on its own) dries super fast and doesn't give you as much time to work with it as the fondant mixed with tylose. I also tend to get creases with gumpaste unless I am rolling it super thin.... Then you can dry it over a couple of days, depending how thick it is and how dry you want it. You also leave yourself the option of bending it around a bit until day 2 at least. HTH - good luck!
