How Do I Get My Fondant Smoother To Work?

The stupid thing just sticks. I dust it with pwdered sugar and that doesn't help...I use my hands.

Maybe it's not the smoother but the fondant... What type of fondant is it? Sounds like it is a bit too sticky. I haven't had this problem before with my smoother. Hmmmmm

I've had this problem before. Trust me, it's not you. It's your fondant. mimi4bye is correct, your fondant is sticky. I never use powdered sugar, I use cornstarch. Buy a pair of Knee Highs, fill the toe with cornstarch, tie in a knot, cut off the excess. LIGHTLY dust your cake and paddles with cornstarch. It doesn't take much. I use cornstarch for dusting the fondant and roller too. If you do that, you don't have to dust your cake before smoothing. HTH.

Thank you I will try that...I use the fondant that "cake boss" use cant for the life of me remember.

I believe they also use Satin Ice. That is the only fondant I use as well.
