Thank you so much i will try this one! Do you leave this sit out overnight?? all my recipes are ones to sit out and non perishable, so i want to make sure i do things correctly. this is for a fondant cake also, which i dont like to refrigerate...

does it hold under fondant??

I haven't used the one that was previously linked, but I use this one all the time.

It works just as well as my regular crusting buttercream recipe and yes, it works well under fondant.

I have left it out for up to 3 days with no change in taste or issues. Not sure what the "protocal" is on it though.

This is my favorite recipe. Kathyfs Cream Cheese Frosting

1 cup butter
1/2 cup Crisco
16 oz. cream cheese
3 1/2 lbs powdered sugar
1 T vanilla
1/2 tsp salt

Mix on low speed for a couple of minutes.

If you use clear vanilla in both the color will be a perfect match for <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns =
"urn:schemas-microsoft-comicon_surprised.gifffice:smarttags" />Wilton's buttercream recipe. I use this to frost cheesecakes
when a couple wants part regular cake and part cheesecake for the tiers.

This makes a fairly stiff icing. For a softer one you can use 3 lbs. of powdered sugar.
