Has anyone had any experience baking in mixing bowls? I sometimes see 3D animal cakes which call for rounded bodies, and the only thing I can think of is baking it in a mixing bowl. Do you need to do anything special? The metal ones are quite thin, would you put it in a bath? What about crockery bowls, will they work?

I can't recall what cake I needed it for, but yes I baked a cake in a glass round mixing bowl and it turned out just fine. the only issue I can think of would be the depth of the cake, it does take a while to bake all the way through.

I have baked cakes in both glass Pyrex bowls and metal bowls with no problems.
