Question About Imbc And Cake Drying Out

I know I've read on this board that it is best to leave your cake out at room temp. as putting it in the fridge has a tendency to dry the cake out. But what about a cake covered in IMBC? Would the IMBC act as kind of a "seal" thereby protecting the cake from drying out in the fridge? Or will you still get better results if you leave it at room temp?
