I have a cake for this weekend for a very small wedding. They only need it to serve 30, I think it can be a 9 and 6" according to the cake serving chart. However, does that seem small? I guess I just have a hard time switching gears to such a little cake. I just need to know if you all think that will be plenty of cake for 30 people.
THANK YOU!
Yes, a 9 and 6 would work just fine. I had 40 people at my wedding and the cake was a 6 and 8. Just enough....we didn't want any leftovers. So if you wanted a few extra pieces your 9 and 6 would be great!
If you're using the Wilton wedding serving guide, it says 32+12 = 44 servings for 9" x 6". Are you charging for the 44 servings they'll get, or only for the 30 servings they want?

9" cakes serve 36?
Somebody tell my family!!
I think they get about 12 servings out of that size cake!

No... according to Wilton, 32.

Thank you everyone! I don't use Wilton's chart, I think they are slightly overestimated. I use what I think is called "Erlene's" chart. I will only charge for 30, just some friends, and it's not a huge deal.
Thanks for making me feel better about the size!
I like erlenes charts too!! Boo on the wilton chart. I would give them the extra servings at no additional charge , especially for such a small cake.
