I thought that I had seen this topic before on here but now I can't find it, so sorry for asking again!

I'm making a cake this weekend that I wanted to use black royal icing to do a damask pattern on top of buttercream. Will the black bleed onto the buttercream, and if so, is there any way I can prevent it or reduce it?
