Hello everyone. icon_smile.gif I have never used modeling chocolate or candy clay before, and I was thinking of using it to make some duff roses in a cpl of weeks. Has anyone ever made these with candy clay or mod choc? Silly question ( icon_redface.gif ), but can you roll it out like you can fondant or gumpaste?

icon_biggrin.gif You can use modeling chocolate just like fondant. Good Luck!

Not sure about the "duff roses". I only made the regular roses in my pics with modeling chocolate. I like to do them and found out how by watching Youtube videos on them. They're easy as long as you don't have hot hands!

I've made them for several cakes. Works great! Super easy, but doesn't look like they were!

you can make just about any flower you can make out of fondant with MC or candy clay. this is not necessarily true of gumpaste and mc though.

there are several ways to make mc roses (i mean the realistic looking ones), you just need to find the method that works for you and works with your equipment. you tube has quite a few videos on the subject.

you can also make duff roses and ribbon roses icon_smile.gif.
