Any ideas on how to make chocolate BC frosting look like real wood?

Also when I stack cakes on top of each other and place boards between each layered cake, the board always sticks to the BC on the bottom so there is no frosting on the top of the underneath cakes, does that make sense? I even put a piece of wax paper between the frosting and the cake board in hopes to keep it from sticking but it still does, any thoughts?

I have heard that you can sprinkle powdered sugar or cornstarch on the top of the cake where the cake stacked on top of it will sit and that is supposed to help it not stick. I have never tried it though. I don't have any good ideas for the buttercream to look like wood besides trying to texture it with something like a comb or one of those plastic texture sheets like what they use to do brick patterns and stuff. Sorry not much help!

Are you using a crusting buttercream?
