Hello all!

Just a quick question, how big would you make a cake to feed 40, don't want piddly portions but not too big either?

Thanks!

Hi there! It depends on the shape of the cake & how big you want your slices. Wilton has two sizing charts, and Earlene has a sizing chart (with all different sized slices). I use the Wilton's party cake chart: http://www.wilton.com/cakes/making-cakes/baking-party-cake-2-inch-pans.cfm (this is for 2" tall pans) So according to this chart, you would make a 12" round cake (two layers).
