Wedding is on saturday I can start decorating when? Thank you in advance!

i bake on Wednesday or Thursday for a Saturday wedding. I prefer to bake on Thursday but my schedule doesn't always allow for that. Any thing longer should be put in the freezer.

I have a cake for Sat Sept 4th, I am going to bake this weekend and freeze it.
I have just found out I need to go out of town the afternoon of the 2nd.
Will the cake be ok if I finish it on the morning of the 2nd for a party on the 4th?
It will be fondant covered.
Should it be refrigerated?
