i want to cover a cake in chocolate fondant...what are the ways to get the powdered sugar or cornstarch off of it and return it to its normal state...besides steaming or rubbing shortening all over it...which have not worked for me....any sugestions--thanks!
Ditto. There's no good reason to roll fondant on cornstarch or powdered sugar and several good reasons not to.
I agree with the others but if you do use PS or cornstarch then you can get a fine misting bottle (like they sell for travel at drug stores) and fill it with Vodka and mist your cake. It should dissolve the powder without wetting your cake. I use an airbrush but if you don't have one this should work.
