I have a bride that wants a red velvet wedding cake with cream cheese frosting - 4 tiers. Because the cream cheese cant be smoothed, she asked if there was a product that can be put (or sprinkled?) over the frosting to give it a 'snow look'???

She wants a very elegant cake, its a winter wedding...any suggestions from the wonderful pro's at CC???

Thank you all so much for reading this - any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated icon_smile.gificon_smile.gif

Why can't the cream cheese frosting be smoothed? If you use a recipe like this one you can use the paper towel method. Kathyfs Cream Cheese Frosting

1 cup butter
1/2 cup Crisco
16 oz. cream cheese
3 1/2 lbs powdered sugar
1 T vanilla
1/2 tsp salt

Mix on low speed for a couple of minutes.

If you use clear vanilla in both the color will be a perfect match for <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns =
"urn:schemas-microsoft-comicon_surprised.gifffice:smarttags" />Wilton's buttercream recipe. I use this to frost cheesecakes
when a couple wants part regular cake and part cheesecake for the tiers.

This makes a fairly stiff icing. For a softer one you can use 3 lbs. of powdered sugar. You could sprinkle some white edible glitter .
