Hello, can anybody help me to a recipe of a dark-colored carrot cake? Most of the recipes I tried came out in a brownish color, but I'm looking for a recipe in which the cake turns out to have a very dark color, almost black.
I'm from the Netherlands and over here the carrot cake isn't very popular. When I visit Britain though, I can eat it almost everywhere! Most of the cakes are very dark, but the saleslady I spoke couldn't tell me what kind of ingredients are in those cakes. I tried darkbrown sugar already, turned out a bit darker, but where can I find a recipe of a very very dark carrot cake?
