Hi, I am making cupcakes for a bbq on sunday, - white cupcakes with buttercream frosting. Can I make them today and frost them, and cover them in a pan or do they need to be frozen? Refridgerated? Should I just frost them on Saturday? Advice please, thanks!

If you have to make them today I would freeze them, un-iced. Put them in a ziploc bag and freeze in 1 layer. You can also make the frosting and freeze the same way or store in the fridge. I would take everything out on Saturday night and frost then - you can frost them while they are still frozen. Defrost the frosting carefully in the microwave (or take it out of the freezer a few hours earlier than the cupcakes).
They will not be fresh on Sunday if you make them today and do not freeze.

Ditto Dayti, cupcakes dry out a lot faster then cakes do it seems.
