Hi,

How can I create a fondant pearl border for the cake? I don't have a mold or anything. Is there a favorite way to do this?

thanks

I would use a cutter to cut out fondant and then roll the cut outs into a ball. Using a cutter helps ensure you will get same sized pearls. I have to make a whole bunch of those myself in a couple weeks!

I use the larger end of a frosting tip to cut out circles and then roll them by hand. They all come out the same size if you roll the fondant the same thickness. If I want the pearls to be a little larger I roll it out a little thicker.

I do the same think, except I use a circle cookie cutter instead of a frosting tip. Just make sure your fondant is rolled out the same thickness all over so that all of your pearls are the same size.
