A friend needs a batch of 24 cupcakes to take into her work for an event. I am using the above recipe with chocolate buttercream, basic 1M swirl design and a strawberry on top.

How much to charge?

first, is it legal for you to sell cakes from home? if thats where you bake, you need to check really.

second, what does it cost you to buy the ingredients? what does it cost in terms of extras - toothpicks, cake cases, washing up liquid... then energy - lights, fridge, cooker etc.

third, what do you want to make per hour? at least minimum wage! roughtly how long will it take you? do your research - do other custom bakeries sell cupcakes anywhere near by? what do they charge?

then, you have your price
