I'm sure to most of you, this is a silly question but I've never made a wedding cake so I don't know. I've been asked to make my 1st wedding cake and when they ask for a three tier cake to feed about 100 people. Does this include the small anniversary cake they keep? Any feed-back would be greatly appreciated.

do they want to keep the top tier - it's not done as much as it used to be. The top tier is not part of the serving count tho - except to work out the cost!

Here's the wilton weddign chart to show you number of servings so you'll know what size cakes to use: http://www.wilton.com/wedding/wedding-cakes/wedding-cake-data.cfm

Below (in my signature) is a link on how to cut a weddign cake to achieve those servings.

Depending on the style of wedding cake, here's a wilton how-to on how to assemble various styles: http://www.wilton.com/cakes/tiered-cakes/

The above post is right ... most poeple are no longer saving their top tier anymore. Ask them their preference.
