How tall are your cakes usually?

I just filled a 10 inch cake and before even crumb coating, it stands 5 inches tall! Wowzer. I think I should have left one of the layers out. It's two 2 in high 10 inch cakes torted.

4 1/4 to 4 1/2

Mine are at least 4 to 4 1/2 inches tall. I love tall cakes.
