I've been asked to duplicate this cake. It's due this Saturday. I have never made a gumpaste rose, let alone one this large! I could really use some advice on how to go about this. Should I make the cone/bud as big as I want the rose tall? Any advice on how to make it full and tall would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The petals need to be wired and made large. The center would probably need to be an inch tall and then when you wrap the gumpaste around it to make your flower make sure it is completely covered. You can fan out the petals from there. Definitely make these petals and center now or latest Tuesday so that they have plenty of time to dry. Good Luck.
