So here is the head, it's a mermaid, the head is about 5" long. I need to make really long hair for her, 10-14" there abouts. I have a KA pasta machine, and I was thinking of using the spaghetti cutter. What's the best medium for this?

I have fondant, tylose, gumpaste, and I guess I might even have some modeling chocolate I could color, but I've never put it through my KA pasta roller before. Anyone know?

My favorite tool for hair started with a garlic press. However, you can only get hair as long as the press itself is so my next purchase was a clay extruder. I am not sure if they make these for fondant/gumpaste itself (I am sure they do) but my extruder works brilliantly. I bought mine at a craft store amoungst all the polymer clay tools.

Ditto on the clay extruder! Bought mine either at Hobby Lobby or Michaels.

Thanks guys. I ended up using my KA pasta roller and spaghetti cutter. It did the trick, now just hoping the hair doesn't break all over the place. Thank you.
