I have to cover a 6 layer 8" round cake with fondant. The cake is going to be a smoker grill. I've only covered 2 layers with fondant in the past.
I feel the weight of the fondant on the sides with tear the edges.
Does anyone have any advise on how to cover a tall cake with fondant. The cakes are covered with icing.
You could wrap one piece around the side, which would leave a seam in the back, then do a piece on the top. Or roll one piece and just cover it like a normal 2 layer. Either way you may want someone there to help hold the weight of the fondant with you. Good Luck!
