okay, so i've made this cake before. it's a modified box recipe (1/2c oil, 1/2c water, 1 pudding, 1 c sourcream, 1 PB white cake mix, 4 eggs, at 325 til done) and i've never had it do this wierd "pinching" on the side of the cake. here is pics of what i'm talking about. and it wasnt a fluke b/c i baked another one and it did the same thing! any thoughts?

I wonder if it's too moist and kind of collapsing in upon itself? Just a guess! Seems like a lot of liquid ingredients for 1 cake mix, but it is strange that you had success before and not now.

I've had that happen a couple of times. No biggie. Just ice it smooth and it covers just fine.

it is a VERY moist cake. dense too. it's the same recipe posted on here for a dense chocolate cake. i just apply it to other mixes. it's annoying. icon_smile.gif i made 6 chocolate layers and they all were perfect. oh well.
