Hi, I have been looking for a Hobart 20 qt and found some used. How do I find out if it is in good working condition and no problems? To those of you who buy used equipment - do you just take a leap of faith, or is there a way to check? Thanks for any input

I bought mine from a very reputable person that I knew, so getting mine wasn't a problem. Hobarts are like work horses, I think it is rare that one goes bad or is not fixable. Ask if it works, and if they will "guarantee" it for a couple of weeks to be sure? I think Leah and Indy will have more insight to this kind of thing - hopefully one of them will jump in here.

I have been scouring local places as well and I was wondering the same thing. I have 2 local places that specialized in refurbished commercial kitchen equipment so I was going to go through them vs directly from a private seller.
