I'm looking for a simple custard filling. I usually just do fruit fillings but I have a client that has requested custard. Also, please include if your recipe requires the cake to be refrigerated once it is stacked and filled. Thanks!
I use one that comes out like a cream puff kind of a filling, and it's easy. You make a small pack of instant vanilla pudding mix with only 1 1/4 cups of milk, then whip a cup of heavy cream until peaks, then fold it into the pudding, with a teaspoon of almond extract. Yummy, but it does require refrigeration. HTH!
