I LOVE the way Sharon makes her icing to fill up the 5 qt mixer, but I like Debbie's crisco based recipe (I like sharon's too! It's just more convenient to use crisco). Has anybody scaled Debbie's recipe to fill a 5qt mixer like Sharon does? If so, please share! I'm sure many inquiring (yet lazy or we would do it ourselves) minds want to know.

How about trying 2 1/2 of Debi's recipe?

I don't own a KA..I have a Sunbeam and I always double the recipe which works for me. It fills my mixer bowl to about 1" from the rim.

I think you could experiment with it a little. Find out which recipe you need to do of Sharon's for your size mixer. I would then start with Debi's recipe mutiplied to get you the same amount or powder sugar. If that doesn't fill the bowl completley I would figure out if another recipe or half recipe would work.

It takes exactly two batches to cover the paddle on my KA.
