My daughters party is later today and i just realized that part of my cake is exposed from the fondant. One of the decorations cut into the fondant and a part of the cake is showing. Since there is perishabkes in the cake it is in the fridge. My question is will the whole cake dry out or just the exposed area? It will have been like that for twelve hours before eating.

TIA!

What I always do.........is cover it up. Can you put a flower or a banner or something on it? When in doubt stick some camo-flaw!

If it is just a small slit there will not be a problem. Of course totallycakes suggestion is exactly what mostr of us would do.

If it's a big slit, there might be drying around the cut part, but just cover it up with something that looks nice, like everyone says. If nothing comes to mind, put some plastic wrap over the slit until it's time to put the cake out. That will help some.
