Fondant?

I am making a cake for my granddaugher.... I am making a laptop how thin to i need to roll the fondant so it will smooth easily only my 3rd fondant cake and the other 2 didnt turn out so well.....I only have a regular rolling pin not a fondant roller

Whether you roll your fondant thick or thin it will not be smooth unless the icing on the cake is smooth. You need to have your icing as smooth as possible on the cake that you're covering. If the icing isn't smooth the fondant will show every lump and bump.

I usually roll my fondant pretty thin but I never measure so I'm not sure what to tell you. Maybe 1/16 of an inch?
