My mom loves Bahama Mama's and I'd like to come up with a recipe that taste like one. Any ideas? I know they have coconut rum, pineapple juice and orange juice along with grenadine. Would this work?

WASC with
1/2 c pineapple juice
1/2 c orange juice
1/4 c coconut rum
1 tsp cherry flavoring

Not sure what flavor to add to the buttercream though. Thoughts? Ideas? All this is still new to me, and I'm trying to try all kinds of flavors!

You might pm macsmom since she came up with the WASC list, she may have tried something similar in the past. Even if you do scratch, at least you'll know what flavor combos work!

Tropic Breeze - MacsMom
2 pkgs white cake mix
2 c flour
2 c sugar
1-1/2 t salt
1 small pkg banana pudding
8 egg whites
4 Yoplait banana cream yogurts
1/4 c oil
2 c coconut creamer (Coffee Mate)
2/3 c Malibu rum or pineapple juice
1 t coconut extract
1 t banana extract
1 t LoRann Pina Colada flavoring or pineapple extract

What about taking something like this (you can always half it) and trading out the banana for orange? Malibu also comes in a pineapple flavor so you could do that if you wanted less of the coconut taste.

Hmmm....I never thought about swapping the flavors! I may try that! Thanks! The only thing is, I haven't seen the coconut flavor coffee creamer....Thanks!

You could repalce the creamer with the fruit juice (orange and/or pineapple) plus a little water if you want to. You need 2 2/3rds liquid total, so I would just divide that up between the juices and alcohol to get the blend you want.
