can anyone please guide me.. how does fondant stcik on a cookie...
i love the pics of fondant covered cookies and want to try but i dont know how to stick it on the cookie...
is it fondant on cookie or gum paste? PLEASE HELP
placed on a warm cookie right out of the oven, and then I place them back in the oven for a minute and a half-melts perfectly.
I put fondant on the cookies fresh out of the oven. They melt enough to stick right to the cookie. So easy and it eliminates the step of having to use a syrup or piping gel to stick it on!
I am so trying this! Do you use sugar cookies, and the same cookie cutter for the fondant on top?

Yes, the same cutter as for the cookie and I use my version of a sugar cookie. I haven't tried brushing the fondant on with the strained preserves, but I think that method sounds yummy!
I also put the fondant cut with the same cutter as the sugar cookie, directly on the warm cookie right out of the oven. Once it cools the fondant is perfectly set. Love this technique, so much easier than royal icing them! Have fun!
I'm not fast enough to do the warm cookie thing. I let my cookies cool completely then use piping gel or corn syrup brushed on the cookie to stick the fondant on. I then use a VIVA towel to smooth the fondant and trim any excess fondant with a paring knife.

If you want to try the warm cookie thing, make your fondant cutouts before you put the cookies in the oven. The fondant will dry a little bit and be really easy to pick up without stretching.
Thanks! I tried it out and put the fondant on directly out of the oven.
I've done 4 different shapes!
