Rag Wash Or Sponge Effect On Fondant?

Anyone ever do this? Sorry if this or any other topic I post is reduntant, I am new and soemthimes the threads are hard to search exactly. I mean rag wash or sponge like paint on a wall.

yep, I've done this a few times. I tend to paint the fondant lightly all over in a pale version of the colour I want and then use a screwed up piece of kitchen towel dipped in a stronger solution to accent and give the sponge effect. I change the towel as it gets too wet or loaded with colour.

I sponged the blue on this cake with airbrush color and a sea sponge.
