I'm wanting to make a fire themed cake for our Fire Dept'sl picnic. We just bought a new tanker and I would really like to do something about it, but I have NO idea where to even start. I just got my buisness licensed and I figure this would be a great way to get my work seen. Another problem is that our truck is a very bright royal blue. How do I obtain this color. I'm thinking Electric blue with a drop of black maybe? I have 2 weeks before the picnic so any help I can get is welcome. Thanks

I had some good success making a school bus cake by cutting a 9x13 in half length-wise and then cutting a section off at the front. It's been a couple years and I'm not sure I have a digital picture. It was only for a family party, but you could do the same with a larger pan and even do several layers.

You can get a nice royal blue color by using the Wilton royal blue gel food color. You'll have to use a lot to get the color, but it turns out nice.
