I'd like to try the Lambeth, oriental stringwork piping on a dense, long lasting cake. I remember seeing a cake with very little dough and a LOT of nuts on one of the Swiss Colony sausage & cheese catalogs. Recipe for something that tastes good to Americans, anyone?

The apple cinnamon pecan cake or the apricot pecan cake recipe is exactly what I'm looking for.

Would you be thinking of a nut bread? There's many types of "breads" that are more like a cake than bread. They're dense and heavy and delicious. Don't know why you couldn't bake it in a round.
