i just mixed a bowl of batter and for some random reason decided to smell the whipped egg whites - they smell awful! not super potent but if i stick nose in the bowl i can smell them. is this normal??? i just bought the eggs and am worried :/

they shouldn't smell bad. Is there an expiration date on the carton?

I find the smell of egg whites to be offensive no matter how old they are. Check and make sure they aren't super old but know if you your sense of smell is very sensitive you just might not like them. There are many things I don't like the smell of that others can't even smell. I'm just a freak of nature I guess!
