Can anyone offer suggestions to help me? My parents want me to reproduce their 1960 double wedding ring cake for upcoming 50th anniversary. I am truly a novice having done mostly kids bday cakes and sheet cakes. Biggest problem is the photographs don't show much detail and are black and white. I think I know how to get the basic shape, but need some "simple" decorating ideas that would have been used in that time period. I wouldn't be opposed to making it 50th appropriate with some gold detail. I have also been asked to use their original topper which is quite yellowed. Can I somehow add some gold color to this to mask the yellow?
